My wife and I were in the process of finishing our basement. We decided to add a home theater, but we wanted something unique that was personal to us. After months of searching for something and not getting a warm and fuzzy about anything we found, we were introduced to Mr. Lee Bivens’ “Night Sky” murals. When I saw examples of his work, I immediately fell in love. The company put us in contact with Mr. Bivens, and he took over from there.
Mr. Bivens reached out to me with an intent to understand my wishes and desires. As a photographer, I know what Mr. Bivens was trying to accomplish. Since he has one attempt to paint my concept correctly, it was essential to Mr. Bivens that he genuinely understood what I wanted.
Mr. Bivens and I talked on the phone and exchanged emails for about a month until it was time to paint my night sky mural. Mr. Bivens showed up to prep the ceiling and had one last discussion to ensure he understood my vision. We agreed, and he told me he needed 48 hours to complete the project.
When I tell you Mr. Bivens is so down to earth and such a people person, you can’t help but to fall in love with his personality and who he is as a person. He is the perfect example of what it means to be a decent person.
One of the things I loved about Mr. Bivens was his passion for his work. He appeared to be more excited about painting the mural than I was to see it. This passion (I think) is what drives him to create fantastic murals.
When he finished, my mouth hit the floor. The detail was incredible, and it floors me how the paint changed the look of the room. I don’t think I can articulate how the room looks. You must experience it for yourselves.
I highly recommend Mr. Lee Bivens. My wife and I are trying to figure out a location in another room where we can have Mr. Bivens come out and amaze us again with his talent.

I wanted to write you an email explaining my experience with having you paint a night sky mural for our client’s theatre ceiling. I thought this might be helpful for you in the future if a potential client is a little unsure about you and your work.
When I originally designed the basement project for our clients the most important part of their project was their theatre room. They kept telling me they wanted unique and kick ass! So naturally I went down the path of exploring the option to use fiber optics for their theatre ceiling. After researching and reading several theatre forums I came to the concussion I needed to consider another option due to cost and the end results would not be the wow factor our client was looking for. I then came across a forum that discussed night sky murals in home theatres. This lead me to an artist who has done several night sky murals in the Utah area. I called this artist and showed him a few samples pictures that I came across through my research, which I found out later happened to be from Lee Bivens’s website. The artists informed me he would not be a good fit for our project due to the complex detail I had showed him in the sample night sky mural pictures. He informed me of only one person he knew of that could perform to this level of detail and that artist was Lee Bivens. So I continued on my journey to search out this artist known as Lee Bivens. I found a phone number for him on his website and called, but I didn’t expect him to answer. He answered the phone immediately and was more than happy to discuss my project and explain to me why his night sky murals are far more superior than any fiber optic ceiling. I explained to him the size of our theatre room and what our client was looking for in their mural. He then sent me a quote within a few days, which included his travel expenses since I am in a different state than him. Lee also helped me design our light tray around the room so it would be setup correctly to accommodate his black lights. I showed Lee’s quote to our client and a few samples of his past murals. They were a little skeptical to approve the quote and have Lee do their mural since we’ve never met him or knew anything about him at all. We were strictly going off of my conservations with Lee and trusting he would perform to the level shown on his website. Our clients gave their approval to hire Lee so we proceeded with our 50% deposit and gave him a tentative date when we would be ready for him to complete his work, which was 5 months away from when we gave our approval. After we approved his quote Lee would call me every month to see how our project was coming and to confirm we were still on schedule. There were several times through the course of our project our client would mention to me they hoped Lee Bivens was the real deal and their mural would turn out like shown on his website. I also had the same concerns because it seemed too good to be true, but I continued to have faith and reassured them everything would work out. About 3 weeks prior to Lee starting our project he contacted me to confirm the start date for him to begin our project so he could book his airfare and motel. He also informed me he would be sending me the light fixtures, bulbs, and painting material so it would be here when he was ready to start. At this point our client was extremely anxious for him to get started. I thought everything so far has gone better than imagined and I just continued to hope Lee Bivens could produce the same work as I showed our client from his website. The day finally came when he arrived to our clients house and he could not have been more personable and professional when I introduce him to our client. He was exactly the same helpful person that I had been talking to on the phone for the past 5 months. At that point all of my doubts and concerns went away and I knew at that very moment Lee Bivens was the real deal. The first day at our project he put the primer coat on the ceilings. The second day he installed his lights inside the light trays. The third day he begin his mural. I stopped by around noon and he had the moon painted and part of the milky way galaxy. I was taken back by the detail so far, but had no idea that it was about to get even more amazing. I left the jobsite and returned once he was finished so he could present it to our clients. Before he presented his mural to our client I took one step into the theatre room and could not believe what I was looking at. It was even better than anything I ever imagined and completely blew me away. I then let our client know he was ready for them to view his masterpiece for the first time. They walked into the room with their children and at that moment it was the best feeling I have had on any project. To stand outside of the room and hear all their comments and disbelief of how amazing the mural was I knew I made the right choice by hiring Lee Bivens. Our client stood in their theatre room for at least 30 minutes staring at the ceiling taking in all the different elements Lee had put into their mural. They could not have thanked him anymore than they did while standing in their room for the first time. At one point the husband stepped out of the theatre and said thank you to me and acknowledged we made the right decision. To this day I continue to show other people their ceiling and they cannot believe someone painted that because it looks so real. So to anybody that has doubts or concerns on hiring Lee Bivens to paint a night sky mural for them, trust me, he is worth it and is the real deal!

I wanted to write you an email explaining my experience with having you paint a night sky mural for our client’s theatre ceiling. I thought this might be helpful for you in the future if a potential client is a little unsure about you and your work.
When I originally designed the basement project for our clients the most important part of their project was their theatre room. They kept telling me they wanted unique and kick ass! So naturally I went down the path of exploring the option to use fiber optics for their theatre ceiling. After researching and reading several theatre forums I came to the concussion I needed to consider another option due to cost and the end results would not be the wow factor our client was looking for. I then came across a forum that discussed night sky murals in home theatres. This lead me to an artist who has done several night sky murals in the Utah area. I called this artist and showed him a few samples pictures that I came across through my research, which I found out later happened to be from Lee Bivens’s website. The artists informed me he would not be a good fit for our project due to the complex detail I had showed him in the sample night sky mural pictures. He informed me of only one person he knew of that could perform to this level of detail and that artist was Lee Bivens. So I continued on my journey to search out this artist known as Lee Bivens. I found a phone number for him on his website and called, but I didn’t expect him to answer. He answered the phone immediately and was more than happy to discuss my project and explain to me why his night sky murals are far more superior than any fiber optic ceiling. I explained to him the size of our theatre room and what our client was looking for in their mural. He then sent me a quote within a few days, which included his travel expenses since I am in a different state than him. Lee also helped me design our light tray around the room so it would be setup correctly to accommodate his black lights. I showed Lee’s quote to our client and a few samples of his past murals. They were a little skeptical to approve the quote and have Lee do their mural since we’ve never met him or knew anything about him at all. We were strictly going off of my conservations with Lee and trusting he would perform to the level shown on his website. Our clients gave their approval to hire Lee so we proceeded with our 50% deposit and gave him a tentative date when we would be ready for him to complete his work, which was 5 months away from when we gave our approval. After we approved his quote Lee would call me every month to see how our project was coming and to confirm we were still on schedule. There were several times through the course of our project our client would mention to me they hoped Lee Bivens was the real deal and their mural would turn out like shown on his website. I also had the same concerns because it seemed too good to be true, but I continued to have faith and reassured them everything would work out. About 3 weeks prior to Lee starting our project he contacted me to confirm the start date for him to begin our project so he could book his airfare and motel. He also informed me he would be sending me the light fixtures, bulbs, and painting material so it would be here when he was ready to start. At this point our client was extremely anxious for him to get started. I thought everything so far has gone better than imagined and I just continued to hope Lee Bivens could produce the same work as I showed our client from his website. The day finally came when he arrived to our clients house and he could not have been more personable and professional when I introduce him to our client. He was exactly the same helpful person that I had been talking to on the phone for the past 5 months. At that point all of my doubts and concerns went away and I knew at that very moment Lee Bivens was the real deal. The first day at our project he put the primer coat on the ceilings. The second day he installed his lights inside the light trays. The third day he begin his mural. I stopped by around noon and he had the moon painted and part of the milky way galaxy. I was taken back by the detail so far, but had no idea that it was about to get even more amazing. I left the jobsite and returned once he was finished so he could present it to our clients. Before he presented his mural to our client I took one step into the theatre room and could not believe what I was looking at. It was even better than anything I ever imagined and completely blew me away. I then let our client know he was ready for them to view his masterpiece for the first time. They walked into the room with their children and at that moment it was the best feeling I have had on any project. To stand outside of the room and hear all their comments and disbelief of how amazing the mural was I knew I made the right choice by hiring Lee Bivens. Our client stood in their theatre room for at least 30 minutes staring at the ceiling taking in all the different elements Lee had put into their mural. They could not have thanked him anymore than they did while standing in their room for the first time. At one point the husband stepped out of the theatre and said thank you to me and acknowledged we made the right decision. To this day I continue to show other people their ceiling and they cannot believe someone painted that because it looks so real. So to anybody that has doubts or concerns on hiring Lee Bivens to paint a night sky mural for them, trust me, he is worth it and is the real deal!
